Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Be a prospective student entering a college or university for the first time.
• Must be fully admitted and registered for a minimum of 12 credit hours for the upcoming academic year.
• Provide proof of acceptance and a current class schedule prior to scholarship disbursement.
• Maintain a high school GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Submit either an official or unofficial transcript.
• Showcase academic excellence and leadership abilities.
• Demonstrate participation in extracurricular activities, community services, or religious organizations.
• Exhibit financial need through submission of FAFSA or equivalent documentation.
• Complete your application before the submission deadline.
• Register for and attend the APS Graduation ceremony in 2026.

Application Steps
To apply, candidates need to:
• Fill out the Scholarship Application completely and accurately.
• Write a personal essay (500-750 words) covering:
• Your career aspirations and educational objectives.
• Obstacles you've navigated in your journey.
• The potential impact of this scholarship on your educational path.
• Your contributions to your school and community.
• Provide your latest academic transcript.
• Include a letter of recommendation from someone who knows your character and contributions, such as a teacher or community leader.

Submission Instructions
Applications and supporting documents should be submitted electronically using the official APS Texas Regional Scholarship Application Form.
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
Scholarship
Proces
The APS Texas Regional Scholarship is designed to support and encourage students in their pursuit of higher education. With a total award of up to $6,000, this scholarship is distributed over four academic years to help cover educational expenses. Funds are allocated on a per-semester basis, provided that students continue to meet eligibility requirements each semester. For example, the full $6,000 award will be disbursed as $750 each semester for four years.

Scholarship Renewal Conditions
Your scholarship renewal is contingent upon fulfilling the following requirements:

Maintain a GPA of 3.0 throughout the scholarship duration.

Submit your grades at the end of each semester for fund continuation.

Failure to comply will result in suspension of funds for one calendar year.

Sustain "full-time" enrollment during fall and spring semesters.

Submit an enrollment verification form at the start of each semester.

Complete 5 volunteer hours annually with a local APS Chapter and another 5 with a different non-profit organization. (Note: Volunteer hours are not required for Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 distributions, but will apply for Fall 2027 disbursement).

5 hours must be verified by both the APS chapter director and a representative from the other organization.

Complete a total of 10 volunteer hours each year during the award period.

Failure to complete a semester might result in a prorated reimbursement to the APS scholarship fund.

Funds are allocated for tuition and mandatory fees. Non-educational expenses may incur taxation.

Scholarship disbursement will occur as follows:

Direct Payments to the educational institution.

Funds will be allocated directly to the student’s college or university.

Reimbursements to Students

Students pay eligible expenses upfront, followed by submission of receipts for reimbursement.
